Chizuko is a Bay Area-born R&B singer, songwriter, pianist, vocal
producer, and dancer whose music fuses raw emotion with refined artistry. With over 14 years in the entertainment industry, she brings a unique mix of soulful storytelling, genre-bending sound, and bold visual
performance rooted in her African American and Japanese heritage.
Her sound blends the depth of R&B with influences from Pop and HipHop. reflecting the wide range of training she received at California
Institute of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Vocal Performance, and at Millennium Dance Complex for hip-hop dance. She’s also a skilled vocal arranger and instrumentalist, playing both piano and guitar.
Chizuko’s music is deeply personal, centered on themes of self-love, healing, and empowerment. She writes from lived experience—turning struggle into strength, pain into beauty, and vulnerability into power. Her voice, both literally and artistically, is warm, powerful, and intentional.
As a songwriter and performer, she has contributed original music to hit shows such as Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard (theme song), Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, Love & Hip Hop Miami, Teen Mom Family Reunion, The Hills (MTV), Oprah's Family or Fiancé, and more. She’s also collaborated on Jordin Sparks’ #1 album and appeared in campaigns for
major platforms like HBO, Snapchat, Facebook, and Microsoft. Chizuko has shared the stage with artists like Coldplay and Kehlani (on the track “Thank You”), and performed at New York and LA Fashion Weeks, The Tammi Mac Show, and the Black College Expo. She was a member of the award-winning a cappella group Vocal Rush, and her performances have earned her recognition from Cardi B, Robert Glasper, Eric Bellinger, Ceraadi, and Serayah. With a heart for giving back, Chizuko has used her extensive experience in music and entertainment to inspire others. She now teaches vocal, piano, and dance lessons, helping young artists develop their skills and confidence. She also founded Chi to the Streets, a community-based organization dedicated to uplifting underserved communities by sharing her art—and creating platforms for other artists to be seen and heard. Inspired by her grandmother, Chizuko Seki Murata, and fueled by her mission to bring light and joy to the world, Chizuko creates music that uplifts and unites. Every lyric, melody, and movement is a reflection of her story—and an invitation for others to embrace their own.
